Small things overlooked often set the path to ruin.
The more you learn, the easier it is to trip over the basics. Focused on the complex, or exciting, we completely miss the easy answers.
I’ve seen this again, and again throughout my career.
The frustrating part is when I’ve fallen victim to this myself.
16 years ago, I HATED asking those “dumb” questions when I started out taking calls for AppleCare.
“Have you turned it on?” “Is it plugged in?” “When did you last update?”.
The ONLY dumb questions, are the unasked ones.
Time and again those easy questions save the day.
All we can do is to never forget where we started, stay humble, and ask more questions!!
